This notice is inform you of Shawano Youth Leagues decision on the use of composite bats in its Boys Majors, Boys AAA and Boys AA divisions for the 2011 season and moving forward.
Although we are not officially associated with the Little League Organization, it has been a past practice to follow guidelines that are set by them, primarily as it pertains to rules and player safety.
SYL has decided that in the 2012 season, fully composite bats WILL NOT be approved for use in League or Tournament play. Composite bats will be allowed during the 2011 League and Tournament play. Our decision to not allow composite bats is for the safety our players.
We will follow and provide updated APPROVED bats lists that are listed on the Little League Organization website. Please note, the Little League Organization is providing an additional list of fully composite bats that have met certain requirements that they will allow to be used. Shawano Youth League WILL NOT honor that bat list and has decided to entirely ban fully composite bats in 2012.
